KentixONE - Activate Online Service
By activating the KentixONE online services, you extend your KentixONE solution beyond the basic functionality: you have full control from anywhere via app and are protected by regular online updates. Additionally, you expand your system with helpful functions.
The KentixONE app for iOS and Android is included in the delivery and is available for free download in the respective app stores. Through the app, you can access the system overview, log books, live video images, measured values and system states. You can also arm and disarm alarm zones, use parts of the user management and send alarm and system messages via PUSH and email.
Additionally, the "Digital Door Key" function is available. This allows door permissions to be easily distributed and operated via NFC or remote opening if desired. There is also the "Daily System Check" (routine control) function to ensure general system availability. The number of users is not limited.
Prerequisites
- Active KentixONE installation
- Internet connection for the KentixONE system
- Valid email address for registration
- KentixONE plan with activated online service
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Activate KentixONE Plan
Navigate to "KentixONE Plan" using the sidebar.
Click the "Activate" button, enter the KentixONE plan activation code and confirm with "Register".
2. Activate KentixONE Online Service
If not set to "Active", activate KentixONE online service and confirm with "Save" in the top right.
In the upper status bar, the cloud briefly turns "red", after a few seconds (15-60s) it changes to green and KentixONE online service is "Connected".
3. Configure Users for Cloud Access
Navigate to "Users" via sidebar.
In the user list, click the "Cloud" button of the desired user and click "Manage KentixONE App Access".
Enter email address to create a KentixONE online account and confirm with "Activate". The user receives an email to activate their account and the app. If the KentixONE online account already exists under this email, access to this installation is added to the online account.
4. Install KentixONE App
Download and install app: iOS KentixONE Android KentixONE
Follow the invitation in the email.
Activate the online account.
5. Register Users in the App
The user receives an invitation email. This can be opened on the smartphone or in the web browser. If the user does not yet have a KentixONE online account, it will now be created. The KentixONE app opens automatically (allow opening with app if necessary) or a page appears to set the password. The desired password must be entered and confirmed again.
If the user already has a KentixONE online account with the specified email address, they receive a notification by email that KentixONE access has been granted to them.
During registration via app, there is another step for authenticating the user using a temporary PIN and creating a password. During this process, another email is sent to the user. Follow the instructions in the app and the email.
After completing the registration, the user can now access the installation.
Communication or Firewall Settings in the Network for KentixONE Online
In most networks, no special releases or port activations are required for using KentixONE Online. KentixONE Online uses the same communication and security procedures as modern IoT and web applications and does not require unsafe activation of IP ports from outside (inbound) into the network.
However, if firewall rules are necessary to communicate with the KentixONE servers from the network (outbound) or to restrict communication, the following information may be helpful:
Communication port of the KentixONE servers:
- TCP 443 (https)
DNS names of the KentixONE servers:
- auth.cloud.kentixone.com
- gateway.cloud.kentixone.com
If firewall rules block communication with the KentixONE servers, the online service cannot function properly.
