AlarmManager

General

The basic settings of each device include the activation state (On/Off) as well as a name under which all alarms and warnings reported by this device are displayed. This should be chosen as uniquely descriptive as possible to be able to distinguish between devices.

In this area, external sensors connected to the digital inputs can be configured.

A configuration can be made for each external sensor that determines the functionality of the sensor. The configuration includes the following settings:

ChannelSelection of the alarm assignment
NameThe designation used here is used in KentixONE to identify the external sensor, such as in alarm messages and log entries.
Alarm GroupAlarms triggered by an external sensor are signaled in the alarm group selected here. In the Detail View, the sensor is displayed in this alarm group.
Alarm whenDepending on the configuration selected here, the external sensor triggers an alarm when its state is open or closed.
TypeThe external sensor can be used in various ways in KentixONE.
Depending on the selected type, the sensor can be used in advanced functions and may be displayed differently in the Detail View.
Standard The sensor can be used normally and does not trigger any special behavior.
Door Contact The sensor is used to monitor the open/closed state of a door. This type is recommended when using a door/magnetic/reed contact.
Leakage The sensor is used for leakage detection. This type is recommended when using a Kentix LeakageSensor.
Presence/Motion The sensor is used to detect people in an area. This type is recommended when, for example, a PIR motion sensor is connected. The external sensor can now be used in an mantrap.
Ignore when armingWhen an external sensor has triggered an alarm, its parent group normally cannot be armed (see Interlocking).
Alarm delayIn some application scenarios, it can be helpful not to signal an alarm immediately. This delay can be set here for the external sensor.
Description open/closedDepending on the state of the external sensor, a different description can be displayed in the Detail View

Alarm Delay

The alarm delay specifies how long a device should delay the signaling of an alarm after it has been detected. Example: With an alarm delay of 30s, the device waits 30 seconds before the alarm is signaled and reported.

The AlarmManager also has the "Last SMS" function, which sends a notification via SMS when there is a power loss.

Connection

Connection monitoring enables alarming when the device is not reachable.

Alarm AssignmentSelection of the alarm assignment
Output as WarningConnection loss does not trigger an alarm and is only reported as a warning.

Environment Monitoring

Through environmental monitoring, external hazards such as temperature (overheating), relative humidity, dew point (condensation on equipment) or air quality can be monitored. The view enables precise configuration of threshold values and alarm behavior for various environmental parameters.

Temperature

Temperature monitoring enables the setting of minimum and maximum temperatures as well as an offset value.

Alarm AssignmentSelection of the alarm assignment
Min.Minimum temperature in °C (e.g., 10°C)
Max.Maximum temperature in °C (e.g., 30°C)
OffsetTemperature offset in °C (e.g., -2.0°C)
Warning atCheckbox to activate warnings with configurable values (e.g., 15°C - 25°C)
tip

Use the offset value for temperature to compensate for calibration deviations of the sensor

Relative Humidity

Humidity monitoring is performed in percent and enables the setting of minimum and maximum values.

SettingDescription
Alarm AssignmentSelection of the alarm assignment
Min.Minimum relative humidity in % (e.g., 10%)
Max.Maximum relative humidity in % (e.g., 90%)
Warning atCheckbox to activate warnings with configurable values (e.g., 15% - 75%)

Dew Point

Dew point monitoring can be activated or deactivated and works with a hysteresis value.

ParameterDescription
StatusSelection of the alarm assignment
HysteresisHysteresis value in °C (e.g., 2°C)
Warning atCheckbox to activate warnings with configurable value (e.g., 5°C)
info

When the room temperature approaches the dew point, condensation can occur. To trigger an alarm before this happens, the dew point hysteresis can be configured. This represents the temperature difference before reaching the dew point to trigger an alarm.

Intrusion

Intrusion detection and reporting is among the most important measures of physical monitoring. KentixONE offers, depending on the device, one or more factors that are used for detecting unauthorized access. The alarm assignment is set to "Armed-Active" in the default delivery state, which prevents alarming, for example, during normal business hours. When the alarm group superior to the device is armed, this activates the alarm evaluation of intrusion detection.

Make sure that the configured limit values correspond to the actual environmental requirements of your installation. Incorrect settings can lead to unnecessary alarms or failure to detect critical conditions.

External Sensors

info

Up to four external sensors can be connected.

In this area, external sensors connected to the digital inputs can be configured.

A configuration can be made for each external sensor that determines the functionality of the sensor. The configuration includes the following settings:

Digital Switching Outputs

info

Up to four external devices can be connected via switching output. For switching outputs, the meaning of the alarm assignment differs from other configuration options, in this case it specifies the function of the switching output or which alarms should trigger the output to switch.

A configuration can be made for each switching output that determines the functionality of the output. The configuration includes the following settings:

NameThe designation used here is used in KentixONE to identify the switching output, such as in alarm messages and log entries.
Alarm GroupThe alarm group determines the function of the output for switching outputs or which alarms should trigger the output to switch.
Switching TimeDetermines the duration for which the switching output remains activated. Available options: Off, 1 second, 3 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, Permanent. When the switching output is triggered, it remains switched for the set time.

Alarm Assignment

The alarm assignment determines the specific function of the switching output:

NameAPI ValueDescription
Armed-Activearmed-activeWhen an armed-active alarm occurs in the assigned alarm group, the output is switched to high level for the set switching time. An acknowledgment also causes the output to return to low level prematurely.
Always-Activealways-activeWhen an always-active alarm occurs in the assigned alarm group, the output is switched to high level for the set switching time. An acknowledgment also causes the output to return to low level prematurely.
FirefireWhen a fire alarm occurs in the assigned alarm group, the output is switched to high level for the set switching time. An acknowledgment also causes the output to return to low level prematurely.
SabotagesabotageWhen a sabotage alarm occurs in the assigned alarm group, the output is switched to high level for the set switching time. An acknowledgment also causes the output to return to low level prematurely.
System MessagesystemAlarms can always be triggered. These are reported as system messages.
Only for external devices and switching outputs
Collective Alarm (Group)collected-alarmOutput is switched to high level as long as an alarm is pending in the parent alarm group. Acknowledgments have no effect.

Collective Alarm Sabotage (Group)collected-alarm-sabotageOutput is switched to high level as long as a sabotage alarm is pending in the parent alarm group.

Webhooks

Webhooks in KentixONE provide the ability to send an HTTP request to an external server when an event occurs. System-wide Webhooks can be created for this purpose. Such a webhook can be assigned to any number of events.

tip

Webhooks also provide the possibility to implement functions via the KentixONE SmartAPI that are not available through the standard configuration.

For example, when a fire alarm occurs, the switching outputs of an AccessManager could be activated to unlock the connected motor locks.

Events

NameDescription
All AlarmsThe webhook is sent for every alarm that occurs.
Armed-Active AlarmsWhen an armed-active alarm occurs, the webhook is sent.
Always-Active AlarmsWhen an always-active alarm occurs, the webhook is sent.
Fire AlarmsWhen a fire alarm occurs, the webhook is sent.
Sabotage AlarmsWhen a sabotage alarm occurs, the webhook is sent.
System MessagesWhen a system message is triggered, the webhook is sent.
Before ArmingThe webhook is sent when an alarm group is to be armed.(1)
After ArmingThe webhook is sent after an alarm group has been armed.
Before DisarmingThe webhook is sent when an alarm group is to be disarmed.(1)
After DisarmingThe webhook is sent after an alarm group has been disarmed.
Change of Switching Status (Arming or Disarming)When the alarm group is switched, the webhook is sent.
Cyclical (5 Min, 10 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min)The webhook is sent cyclically.
info

(1) The webhook is sent when a switching command is triggered either by a user or by automatic arming. Example: (Dis-)Arming command by user → Webhook is sent → (Dis-)Arming is executed

Test Functions

Here, the physical functions of the device can be manually controlled to test them.
