Mantrap

An airlock provides the ability to control and monitor the movement of people between multiple alarm groups.

The prerequisite for this functionality is always a passage between the airlock and the adjacent alarm groups. This is used to detect the outer and inner doors of the airlock.

Using an external sensor, a presence detector can also be activated that can determine independently of the bookings at the DoorLocks whether a person is located within the airlock area. If no presence detector is active, the occupancy of the airlock is tracked via the bookings.

note

The integrated presence detection via bookings can lead to malfunctions when multiple people enter the airlock area with a single booking. It cannot be tracked whether all people have left the airlock. For sensitive areas, a presence detector is recommended.

warning

The construction of an airlock is only recommended with DoorLock (Bus). This means that the associated AccessManagers should be mounted inside the airlock to be able to control the airlock doors.

Example

Setup

There are two alarm groups (A, B) and between them alarm group S, where the airlock function has been activated. In each of these alarm groups there are DoorLocks that have been connected to passages:

  • Passage A-S
  • The DoorLock in A is an outer door of the airlock
  • The DoorLock in S is an inner door of the airlock
  • Passage S-B
  • The DoorLock in S is an inner door of the airlock
  • The DoorLock in B is an outer door of the airlock

Additionally, an external sensor is configured in S that functions as a presence detector.

Process

schleuse.png

  1. A person wants to enter the airlock area from A and books at the corresponding DoorLock.
  • If no other person is in the airlock area (presence detector) and all passages are closed (door contacts), access is granted and the person can enter the airlock.
  1. When the person is inside the airlock, all passages must be closed.
  2. The person books at the corresponding inner door of the passage to B.
  • If they have the corresponding access authorization, the door is opened and the person can leave the airlock again.
