Integration Assistant
The management of multiple main devices can be consolidated into a single SiteManager or AlarmManager using the Integration Assistant. The integrated devices are automatically switched to satellite device operating mode.
SiteManagers cannot be integrated.
Starting the Integration Assistant
When multiple systems are to be merged into one, the individual main devices must be integrated one after another into the new overall system. All devices of the existing systems become satellite devices during the integration process and are subordinated to the new main device.
Preparation
To successfully merge the two systems, KentixONE performs several security checks on the new and old main device at the beginning of the integration and requires the IP address and API token of an administrator of the system to be integrated.
The Integration Assistant uses the Kentix SmartAPI for verification, which requires the API token
for authentication.
This approach is more secure and effective than transmitting a password.
After starting the verification, the following points are checked:
Communication Key
The Communication Key serves for encrypted communication between KentixONE
devices.
To perform an integration, this must be the same on both systems.
Software Version
For a successful integration, both main devices must be on the same software version.
This can be read under the menu item System
→ Device Information
. If there are different versions on the
devices, a firmware update must be performed.
Operating Mode
The Integration Assistant helps with merging two complete KentixONE systems.
Devices that are operated as Satellite Devices cannot be integrated alone. A Main Device
or Standalone Device is always required.
Time
Since all log entries are also transferred during integration and each entry is provided with a timestamp, it is absolutely necessary that the times on the devices are approximately the same. A certain tolerance between the times is permissible.
Backup
Before integration, backups of both systems are created and downloaded.
Creating and securing backups is recommended to be able to reset both systems to their original state in case of an error.
Authentication
Once the check has been completed and passed, the integration can be started.
This is done via the KentixONE SmartAPI. For authentication, the API Bearer Token of an administrator of the system to be
integrated is required.
The API Bearer Token is stored in the User Profile.
Listing of Settings to be Integrated
The setting parameters to be integrated are listed and all conflicts that would arise from the
integration are marked.
These must be resolved for a successful integration. For this purpose, the conflicting settings of the
device to be integrated can be renamed or compared.
In a comparison, a choice must be made between the settings to be integrated and those already existing.
The selected settings then apply to the new overall system.
Integration Report is Created
After the integration, a report is created that lists the integrated parameters and contains any errors. This report can be downloaded as a CSV file.
Completion of the Integration Assistant
After successful completion of the Integration Assistant, the integrated device and its former Satellite Devices are listed in the Detail View. The now integrated device was automatically changed from the operating mode Main Device to the operating mode Satellite Device.
