Communication
The Communication menu item allows you to configure various network protocols and communication interfaces. These enable the integration of KentixONE into existing IT infrastructures and connection to external systems.
Email
The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) enables sending email notifications directly from KentixONE. This function can be used to send automated alarm messages, status reports and other important information via email to defined recipients.
SMTP configuration requires the corresponding server data from your email provider. This includes server address, port, authentication data and encryption settings.
SNMP
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used for monitoring and managing network devices. KentixONE can function both as an SNMP manager (to monitor other devices) and as an SNMP agent (to be monitored by external systems).
SNMP can be used to retrieve device information, make configurations and send trap messages for events.
SNMP is particularly suitable for integration into existing network monitoring systems and central monitoring of the KentixONE infrastructure.
Detailed information on SNMP configuration can be found under SNMP.
LDAP
The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) enables KentixONE to connect to existing directory services such as Active Directory. This allows user authentication and authorization to be managed centrally via the company directory.
LDAP integration significantly simplifies user management since no separate user accounts need to be created in KentixONE.
When configuring LDAP, ensure correct security settings, especially when using SSL/TLS encryption for transmitting login data.
Detailed information on LDAP configuration can be found under LDAP.
VdS 2465
The VdS 2465 guideline defines standards for transmitting messages from hazard detection systems. KentixONE supports this protocol for connection to certified transmission equipment and emergency and service control centers.
The protocol ensures secure and encrypted transmission of alarm and fault messages according to recognized security standards.
VdS 2465 configuration requires special certificates and keys. Incorrect configuration can impair proper alarm forwarding and cause security risks.
Detailed information on VdS 2465 configuration can be found under VdS 2465.
