Network Settings
The available settings depend on the selected network service.
When using a DHCP service, the device receives the IP address automatically from the DHCP server. Therefore, when selecting DHCP as the network service, the IP address and subnet mask are inactive and cannot be edited. Additionally, the option of a static IP address can be used as a fallback. The device is reachable under the static address as soon as the DHCP service is not available. For this, the static IP address and subnet mask must be entered.
When manually configuring network settings, the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway must be entered.
Additionally, the IP addresses of the DNS servers (Domain Name System) must be entered. These map domain names to IP addresses. This is required for KentixONE-GO, for example.
IEEE 802.1X
To establish a connection to a network protected with 802.1X, port authentication must be activated. After that, the username and password for authentication with the authentication method EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) can be entered. If the password has already been hashed by the authentication server, the function "Password is already hashed" must be activated. Finally, the settings must be saved.
Authentication methods other than EAP are currently not supported.
When using a self-signed SSL certificate from KentixONE, this will be regenerated when changing network settings. As a result, all clients (e.g. browsers) that have previously established a connection to the KentixONE device must accept the new certificate. A page reload may therefore be necessary.
