Switching Alarm Groups via DoorLocks

This guide describes how to configure the arming and disarming of alarm groups via DoorLocks. Users can then activate or deactivate alarm groups through the DoorLock interface.

Prerequisites

For switching alarm groups via DoorLocks, all of the following prerequisites must be met:

  • The alarm group must be registered in the DoorLock configuration
  • The DoorLock must be configured in an access profile
  • The user must have the corresponding access profile assigned
  • The user requires a user group with the permission "Switch assigned alarm groups arm/disarm"
  • The user must have the alarm group to be switched assigned to them
  • The user profile must be active
warning

All prerequisites must be completely fulfilled. If any of the configurations is missing, the user cannot switch the alarm group via the DoorLock.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create User Group with Switch Permission

  1. Navigate to USER MANAGEMENTUser Groups
  2. Create a new user group or edit an existing one
  3. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Switch Alarm Groups")
  4. Activate the option "Switch assigned alarm groups arm/disarm" in the Permissions
  5. Save the user group
tip

Use descriptive names for user groups to make administration easier. This way you can quickly identify what permissions a group has.

2. Configure User

  1. Navigate to USER MANAGEMENTUsers
  2. Create a new user or edit an existing one
  3. Fill out the Account Settings:
  • Enter a Username
  • Assign a Password
  • Make sure "Activate user account" is enabled
  1. Assign the User Group:
  • Select the user group created in step 1
  1. Assign the Alarm Groups:
  • Add all alarm groups that the user should be able to switch
  1. Configure the Access Profile:
  • Select the access profile that is assigned to the DoorLock
  • Make sure the profile is active
  1. Save the user configuration
info

The access profile links the user with the DoorLock. Without this assignment, the user cannot use the DoorLock.

3. Create Access Profile for DoorLock

  1. Navigate to SMARTACCESSAccess Profiles
  2. Create a new access profile or edit an existing one
  3. Enter a name for the profile
  4. Add the corresponding DoorLock to the Time Profiles
  5. Make sure the profile is active
  6. Save the access profile

4. Configure DoorLock for Alarm Group Switching

  1. Navigate to SMARTPDUBilling (or to the corresponding DoorLock menu)
  2. Select the corresponding DoorLock
  3. Scroll to the Alarm Systems section
  4. Enter the alarm group that should be switched via this DoorLock in the "Switch Alarm Group" field
  5. Activate "Manage Ext. Alarm System" if required
  6. Save the DoorLock configuration
warning

The alarm group entered in the DoorLock configuration must exactly match the alarm group assigned to the user.

tip

Always perform a test after configuration to ensure that all settings are correct and the functionality works as expected.

Troubleshooting

If alarm group switching does not work, check:

  • Is the user account active?
  • Does the user group have the permission "Switch assigned alarm groups arm/disarm"?
  • Is the correct alarm group assigned to the user?
  • Is the access profile active and assigned to the DoorLock?
  • Does the alarm group in the DoorLock configuration match the user assignment?
  • Does the user have the correct access profile assigned?
danger

Without all required permissions and assignments, alarm group switching is not possible. Check all prerequisites systematically.
