Configuration
This article describes all settings in the “Configuration” tab within the user group configuration. Here, you define which system-wide settings members of this group are allowed to read or manage.
Device Name
The device name is the unique designation of the KentixONE system (main device/top alarm group).
Change System Name
Allows changing the system name. Without this permission, the field remains read-only.
The name appears in notifications, on the dashboard, and in exports. Choose a clear, location-specific name.
Language & Region
Includes the interface language, time zone display, and units (e.g., °C/°F).
Manage Language & Region
Allows changing the language, locale, and temperature unit.
Date & Time
Time-related system parameters.

Allows configuring the time zone, NTP servers, and manual system time setting.
Incorrect time can affect logs, certificates, alarms, and reports. Verify synchronization after adjustments.
Data Protection
Manage Data Protection Settings
Allows defining automatic deletion of logbook entries and other retention periods.
Personalization
Manage Personalization Settings
Allows adjusting the display (e.g., detail view layout, background) and system-wide UI preferences.
Network
Manage Network Settings
Allows editing device network settings (IP, DNS, gateway, VLAN, etc.).
Plan changes outside of productive hours and document the original parameters for rollback.
SSL Certificate

Allows uploading/renewing a custom TLS certificate for HTTPS.
Satellite Settings

Allows changing the operating mode and addresses of connected satellites.
VPN

Allows configuring the VPN connection (e.g., OpenVPN client/server profiles).
Security

Allows maintaining security-relevant options (communication keys, password policies, RFID encryption, PIN lengths, etc.).
Improper changes can weaken access protection. Operate under the four-eyes principle.
