Overview
Use the General menu item to set the language, date and time. In addition, the settings for the automatic creation of backups and the personalization of the web interface can be changed under this menu item.
Language & Region
A language and a temperature scale are selected during initial commissioning. This can be changed at any time under this menu item. To do this, select and save the desired language and temperature scale.
Date & time
The correct setting of the date and time is essential for error-free operation of the system, as all entries in the event and access log, for example, are provided with a time stamp.
The time zone, time and date must be entered for this. The time and date can be entered manually or obtained automatically from NTP servers (Network Time Protocol). The addresses of the NTP servers are required for the automatic setting of the time and date. The addresses of two public NTP servers are preset.
Finally, all the settings made must be saved.
Automatic backups
KentixONE offers the option of creating automatic backups for cyclical data backup.
The time (when the backup is created) and the storage location (where) can be configured. Suitable storage locations are SD cards, which must be inserted into the device, or shared folders in the local network.
The SMB (Server Message Block) network protocol is used to save the backup in a folder on a network drive. The versions of the protocol are used in descending order. First, an attempt is made to save the backup with SMB 3. If this fails, it is repeated with version 2 and then with version 1.
If a network drive is selected as the storage location, the IP address and the share name (name under which the folder is shared in the network) must be entered. If the backup is to be saved in a subfolder on the network drive, the path to the storage location must also be specified. It is essential to ensure that the path with “/” is used as the path separator. If authentication is required for memory access, a user name and password can be entered for authentication.
Finally, all the settings made must be saved.
Personalization
Detail View
This view can be customized system-wide with a background image. An image can be uploaded in the file formats JPG, JPEG or PNG with a maximum size of 1 MB.
In the detail view, the project can be displayed in a topology, tile and table view. In addition, a standard view can be selected from the three views. When the Detail View is called up, the project appears in the set standard view.
Shortcuts
KentixONE offers the option of creating links to any menu items within the system as well as to external pages. The links are linked with an icon and a freely selectable name. The shortcut created in this way appears on the web interface on the right in the header next to the account management.
