How do I set up the iDFace Max?

warning

The iDFace Max is only compatible starting from KentixONE version 8.6.0.

This guide describes the initial setup and basic configuration of the Control iD iDFace Max. Once completed, the device will be accessible on the network and ready to be enrolled in KentixONE.

note

For software versions prior to KentixONE 8.7.0, additional settings are required. These will be explained later in the document.

note

It is recommended to use KentixONE version 8.6.3, as support for RFID media in older software versions is significantly limited.

Prerequisites

  • iDFace Max is installed, powered via PoE and accessible in the KentixONE network
  • Access to the device's display
  • Network parameters known (IP address, netmask, gateway)
  • Optional: Define a certificate strategy (Self-Signed or CA certificate)

2. Set country

Next, select the country where the device is being used.

Accept the "End User Legal Agreement" conditions. For details, scan the displayed QR code and follow the link.

  • Port (Web): Default 80
  • DHCP: Disabled (if a static IP is used)

The device will later be accessible under the entered IP address and enrolled into KentixONE.

10. Navigate to SSL-Network-Props

In the network settings, use the arrows to navigate to the "SSL" section.

11. Enable SSL and choose a certificate

  • Enable SSL

  • Save the changes

The device will then be reachable via https://.
