Visual View
The visual view spatially visualizes devices and alarm groups on a freely selectable plan (e.g. floor plan). You can freely place markers, display them as areas, activate heatmapping and filter and navigate like in the other views.
Requirements
- License: KentixONE Medium (Plan M) or higher
- Permissions: Right "Visual View" in the user group
- A current plan as image file (PNG/JPG/SVG/WebP), recommended up to max. 5 MB
Functions & Display
- Upload own plans/floor plans and use as workspace
- Place devices, IOs and alarm groups as markers; optionally display alarm groups/IOs as area
- Precise alignment via grid (size and number of squares configurable)
- Configurable marker display (size, border, color, shape) and alignment (e.g. cameras/racks)
- Heatmapping by measured value unit (scale appears dynamically, pale gray for devices without matching measured value)
- Navigation between alarm groups directly in the view or via placed elements
- All filters set in tile or table view also work in the visual view
Filters that you set in the grid, tile or table view also apply to the visual display and the left device list in edit mode.
Controls
Upload Plan
- Open the Visual View and click on the map icon "Manage Floor Plan" in the top right.

- Alarm groups and IOs can alternatively be displayed as area and have an additional size handle for scaling.
Additional settings for areas:
- Position: X/Y and "Lock" like for markers.
- Display:
- View: Switch between area and point/marker display.
- Size: Set exact height and width in pixels.
- Color: Normal color of the area (warnings/alarms override this system-wide).
- Opacity: Transparency of the area.
Free Elements
- Drag "New Element" from left bar onto plan to create a free area element (e.g. hot/cold aisles, labels/description texts).

Navigation between Alarm Groups
- Select desired alarm group in top left.
- Alternatively navigate via placed alarm group elements: Click element and use navigation button.
Activate Heatmapping
- Select unit for heatmapping in top center (e.g. temperature).
- Scale of highest and lowest measured value appears on right.
- Devices are colored according to their measured value; devices without matching measured value appear pale gray.
- Click on device shows exact measured value.
Understanding Filters
- All filters set in grid/tile or table view also work in the Visual View - both on displayed devices and device list on left in edit mode.
Additional Functions / Links
- Switch to other Detail View views (topology, tile, table) via top menu bar.
- Navigate to group settings directly from placed alarm group elements.
Links: Detail View, Topology
Optional Functions: SuperSearch for quick selection of groups/devices (in Detail View), export functions in table view
CSV export is only available in table views; Visual View focuses on visual placement.
Tips & Tricks
- The Visual View can be set as default view under "Configuration → General → Personalization".
- The automatic arrangement of markers can be disabled via the magnet icon in the right bar.
- The arrow next to the navigation select jumps directly to the parent alarm group.
- Double click on a placed alarm group element also navigates to the alarm group.
- If elements are already placed and grid is activated, they optionally automatically align to the grid.
- With active grid the additional size setting "Scaling" is available: The marker size automatically adjusts to the grid field size.
- While the configuration menu of an element is open, elements can be moved with arrow keys and for areas additionally resize with Shift+arrow keys.
