Change of Area
In this section, you configure the change of area detection (Anti‑Passback). It prevents unauthorized access to an area through immediate sharing of access data and optionally enables automatic unlocking after a waiting period.
Change of Area Settings
The change of area detection monitors if a user has already entered an area. As long as the user is still recorded to be in the area, a new booking into the area will be denied.
Change of Area Detection Active
Enables or disables system-wide monitoring of changes of area. If the function is active, bookings at DoorLocks that belong to a Passage are blocked for re-entry until the user has properly checked out of the area.
The detection is based on check-ins and check-outs at defined passages. Only DoorLocks assigned to a passage can be used for change of area monitoring.
Automatic Unlocking
Specifies that access data is automatically released again after a defined time period. This is useful if a user forgets to check out or if there is no opposite direction available.
- Time Selection: Choose a fixed duration (e.g., 15 minutes). After the time elapses, the access medium is released again, and the user can re-enter the area.
- Effect: Before the time expires, new bookings remain blocked; after it expires, the block is automatically lifted.
A short unlocking time reduces protection against sharing access data. Only set the time as short as your security concept allows.
For highly critical areas, it is recommended to disable automatic unlocking and instead establish clear processes for checking out or provide an opposite side at the passage.
