How do I use the battery maintenance feature?

This guide explains how to correctly activate the battery maintenance feature for battery-powered Kentix wireless components starting from KentixONE version 8.6.0. Activation is mandatory after initial commissioning as well as after each battery replacement to ensure reliable capture and processing of battery values.

Prerequisites​

  • The wireless component is already integrated into KentixONE.
  • The battery has been replaced or newly inserted.
  • Access to the configuration of the wireless component is available.

Open the maintenance section​

  1. Open KentixONE.
  2. Navigate to the desired wireless component.
  3. Open the configuration of the component.
  4. Switch to the Maintenance section.

Activate battery replacement logging​

In the Maintenance section, activate the "Battery has been replaced" function.

Activation results in:

  • Documentation of the battery replacement
  • Automatic reset of the battery measurement value

This ensures that the battery indicator operates based on the new measurement value.

1.4 Complete activation​

  • Immediately after activation, at least one successful booking must be performed.
  • Only then is battery maintenance fully completed and the new measurement values correctly processed.

Notes​

  • Activating the battery maintenance feature is mandatory after initial commissioning and after each battery replacement.
  • Without activation, incorrect battery levels or warnings may occur.
  • The successful booking serves as confirmation for the new measurement value basis.
