MultiSensor-ROOM (BLE radio) – MANUAL

DATASHEET MULTISENSOR-ROOM

The MultiSensor-ROOM is a battery-operated MultiSensor that can be networked via radio. The sensor is particularly suitable for cost-effective and wireless room monitoring.

The MultiSensor-ROOM requires a suitable remote station for radio operation. This wireless remote station is formed by the network-capable MultiSensors (MultiSensor-LAN or MultiSensor-TI), which also act as a wireless Ethernet gateway.

A SiteManager or AlarmManager in the MAIN-DEVICE operating mode is required for central management. Teach-in and configuration are performed entirely via the KentixONE web interface. The radio range between the gateway (MultiSensor-LAN) and MultiSensor-ROOM can be up to 20m. Up to 25 wireless sensors can be taught-in to a wireless Ethernet gateway.

  1. Battery compartment: one 3.6V 1/2AA battery is required to operate the device
  2. Teach-in key: This key is used to teach the device into the wireless network. To teach-in the sensor, start the teach-in process in the AlarmManager web interface and then press the teach-in button for 3 seconds until a beep is heard
  3. Mounting bracket

Connect with radio network

  1. MultiSensor-ROOM must be within radio range of a fully configured wireless Ethernet gateway (MultiSensor-LAN or MultiSensor-TI). It is recommended to perform the teach-in process closer than the actual placement range, about 3-5m.
  2. Start the teach-in process in the KentixONE web interface in the “Detail View” area via the “Add device” button.
  3. Now press the teach-in button on the MultiSensor-ROOM for approx. 3 seconds with the battery installed. After approx. 5-10 seconds, the MultiSensor-ROOM should be recognized as a new sensor.
  4. Finally, carry out the configuration and place the MultiSensor-ROOM at the intended mounting location.

Due to the energy-saving functions of the MultiSensor-ROOM, arming for a motion alarm is only activated after approx. 5 minutes; this must be taken into account when testing the motion detection functionality.

Application example

Configuration with KentixONE

The configuration is done via web browser (HTTPS) using the already integrated KentixONE software. Depending on the operating mode (Main or Satellite) of the device, the configuration takes place on the device itself (operating mode: Main), or on a central instance such as the SiteManager or AlarmManager (operating mode: Satellite).

All information about the software is available in the KentixONE section and the related documentation.

Before you start the configuration, make sure that the software is up to date on all network-enabled Kentix devices. The version status must be the same on all devices.
You can download the latest software here: KentixONE
