An HTTP proxy is a network service that acts as an intermediary between client and server. It receives HTTP requests from the client and forwards them to the target server. KentixONE devices can communicate with an HTTP proxy server as a client.
If the HTTP proxy is activated and configured correctly, the KentixONE device sends all HTTP requests to external services such as the KentixONE online service or the Kentix OTA update servers via this proxy.
If no authentication is required on the HTTP proxy server, the corresponding fields for user name and password can be left blank.
Sensor proxy
The configuration of the sensor proxy offers the option of setting up an HTTP proxy between the main device and the satellites. All HTTP requests between the main and satellites are then routed via this proxy server.
