Network Camera

note

Applies to all network cameras

Parent Device

Select the parent device under which the new device should be integrated.

info

With multiple locations or separate networks, care must be taken to ensure that communication between the two devices is possible.

note

Available hosts are all KentixONE devices except MultiSensor (wireless).

Alarm Group

The alarm group determines which logical or spatial unit the new device is integrated into. This determines, for example, the alarm and notification behavior of all subordinate devices.

Address

Communication with the device is established via the address and optionally the network port. In most cases, IPv4 and DNS addresses can be used.

Finalize

Now click on Add and wait until the message Device successfully added is displayed.

The configuration mask of the newly added device can be opened directly via the link button.

Initial Configuration

1. Choose Location

Specify where the network camera is mounted. This setting affects image pre-buffering:

  • Indoor: Images are not pre-buffered (10 images are stored from booking).
  • Outdoor: 3 images are pre-buffered, plus 7 images from booking.

This option helps adapt image recording to the respective environment.

2. Select Protocol

Choose the communication protocol that KentixONE uses to access the network camera. Typical protocols are e.g. HTTP or HTTPS.

3. Enter Address

Enter the IP address or hostname of the camera.

4. Select Camera Type

Select the appropriate camera type from the list of pre-configured models. This automatically sets default paths for the livestream URL and snapshot URL.
Alternatively, you can manually enter your own connection data if your camera is not included in the list.

5. Username and Password

Enter the camera's credentials to authenticate access. This data is necessary to retrieve live images and snapshots.

6. Livestream URL

Enter the path and parameters for retrieving the livestream.

7. Snapshot URL

Enter the path and parameters for retrieving individual images (snapshots).
