Kentix Manager (Ethernet)

note

Affects AccessManager, PowerManager, SmartPDU, PowerManager(legacy)

Before an ethernet-based KentixONE device can be added, the initial setup must be completed via the Install-Wizard. In the "Operating Mode" step, configure the device as a Satellite-Device and fill in the Main address and communication key with the data from the Main-Device. These settings can be adjusted later under ConfigurationNetworkSatellites or ConfigurationSecurity.

Parent Device

Select the parent device under which the new device should be integrated.

info

With multiple locations or separate networks, care must be taken to ensure that communication between the two devices is possible.

note

All Kentix managers of the corresponding category (SmartAccess, SmartPDU) as well as all AlarmManagers and SiteManagers are available.

tip

To ensure optimal communication, pay attention to the network environment of both devices. For example, firewalls or VLANs can restrict communication.

Alarm Group

The alarm group determines which logical or spatial unit the new device is integrated into. This determines, for example, the alarm and notification behavior of all subordinate devices.

Address

Communication with the device is established via the address and optionally the network port. In most cases, IPv4 and DNS addresses can be used.

Finalize

Now click on Add and wait until the message Device successfully added is displayed.

The configuration mask of the newly added device can be opened directly via the link button.
