What factors influence the radio connection of SmartAccess or SmartMonitoring devices?

The range for wireless connections between Kentix devices is up to 25 meters. The range and stability of the connection may be limited by some factors. Unfavorable structural environmental conditions can lead to severe restrictions of the radio stability even at very short distances (1-3m).

As a remedy, the affected device (AccessManager, MultiSensors) can be mounted at a different location or the radio link between the devices can be shortened.

Pay attention to the following possible influences during planning and for the cause elimination search.

Structural sources of interferenceEquipment of the roomsElectrical interference sourcesOther sources of interference
Walls and ceilingsMirror / reflective layersMicrowave, televisions, computers…High humidity
Reinforced concrete and metal meshRadio networks:
(directional radio, home automation…)
Steel frame on door
Windows are steamed or heat insulated

The signal strength is displayed in the KentixONE interface and is typically determined for each radio transmission.
