Overview

The magnetic door contact is used to detect open/closed doors and windows. The contact reacts to magnetic fields, whereby the magnet for triggering the contact is included in the scope of delivery.

The door contact is supplied with a 2 m long connection cable and can be connected to Kentix devices with SystemPort.

Dimensions

Controls

  1. Magnet
  2. Reed contact
  3. Connection cable for connection to SystemPort type A and type B

Connection examples

Connection to an Ethernet MultiSensor

  1. Connection to the system port (type A) of the MultiSensor
  2. Door contact

To evaluate the door contact, the external sensor channel 1 must be configured in the configuration screen of the MultiSensor in KentixONE by selecting “Door contact” as the sensor type.

Connection to a distributor box for DoorLock-RA4

  1. Connection to AccessManager KXP-2-RS or previous distribution box
  2. Connection for downstream distribution box
  3. DoorLock-RA4
  4. Door contact KDC1-W

A door contact can be assigned to each DoorLock-RA4. To do this, the door contact is connected to the connection for door contacts on the distribution box.

Without DoorLock-RA4, the door contact connected to the distributor box is not evaluated.

The door contact can then be configured in the configuration screen of the DoorLock-RA4 in KentixONE. The external sensor channel 1 of the AccessManager is not configured in this case.

Connection of two door contacts to one SystemPort

  1. Door contact 1 with single wires in the colors white and brown
  2. Door contact 2 with single wires in the colors white and brown
  3. KIO3 expansion module connected to the SystemPort

The KIO3 extension module is required to connect two door contacts to a SystemPort type A. To do this, the individual wires of the two door contacts must be stripped and each connected to the terminals of the digital inputs of the extension module. Only the single wires with the colors white and brown are required. The individual wires of door contact 1 are connected to the two terminals of digital input 1 of the KIO3 and the wires of contact 2 are connected to the terminals of input 2.

The door contacts can then be configured in the KentixONE configuration screen. Both channel 1 and channel 2 of the external sensors must be configured as door contacts.

The connection of two door contacts to one SystemPort may only be carried out by a qualified electrician or under the guidance and supervision of a qualified electrician. The KIO3 expansion module must not be connected to the SystemPort type B.
