Automatic Backups
For cyclic data backup, KentixONE offers the ability to create automatic backups. These are divided into a configuration backup and a measurement history backup, which can be configured independently of each other.
Settings & Configuration
The configuration backup contains all information to restore the system after replacing the main device or resetting to factory settings.
Active
Activates or deactivates the automatic configuration backup. When activated, the backup is created according to the configured settings.
Send Notification
When this option is activated, an email notification is sent to all system administrators when the backup is created.
Execute Daily at
Specifies the time when the automatic backup should be created daily. The time can be freely chosen.
Storage Drive
Defines the storage location for the backup. Suitable storage locations are:
- SD Card: The SD card inserted into the device
- Network Drive: Shared folders in the local network via SMB protocol
Delete After
Determines how long backup files should be kept. Older backups are automatically deleted to save storage space.
Measurement History
The history backup contains the measurement recordings of all devices in the system.
Inherit Settings
This option allows adopting the settings from the configuration backup to avoid duplicate configurations.
Active
Activates or deactivates the automatic history backup independently of the configuration backup.
Send Notification
When activated, an email notification is sent to all system administrators when the history backup is created.
Execute Daily at
Specifies the time for the daily creation of the history backup. This can differ from the configuration backup.
Storage Drive
Defines the storage location for the backup. Suitable storage locations are:
- SD Card: The SD card inserted into the device
- Network Drive: Shared folders in the local network via SMB protocol
Delete After
Determines the retention period for history backup files. Due to the size of the measurement data, an appropriate retention period should be chosen here.

Netzwerkfreigabe
Änderungen an diesen Einstellungen können sich auf die Funktionalität des Systems auswirken. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die Auswirkungen verstehen, bevor Sie Änderungen vornehmen.
Bei der Verwendung eines Netzlaufwerks wird das SMB-Protokoll (Server Message Block) verwendet.
Wird ein Netzlaufwerk als Speicherort gewählt, müssen die IP-Adresse und der Freigabename (Name, unter dem der Ordner im
Netzwerk freigegeben ist) eingegeben werden.
Soll das Backup in einem Unterordner auf dem Netzlaufwerk gespeichert werden, muss zusätzlich der Pfad zum Speicherort
angegeben werden. Hierbei ist unbedingt darauf zu achten, dass der Pfad mit / als Pfadtrennzeichen
verwendet wird.
Backslashs \ als Pfadtrenner können zu Fehlern führen, weshalb einfache
Slashes/Schrägstriche / zu nutzen sind.
Falls eine Authentifizierung für den Speicherzugriff erforderlich ist, können Benutzername und Passwort für die Authentifizierung eingegeben werden.

Hier werden die spezifischen Parameter für Netzwerkfreigabe konfiguriert. Die Einstellungen sind in logische Gruppen unterteilt, um eine übersichtliche Verwaltung zu ermöglichen.
If a network drive is chosen as storage location, the following inputs are required:
- IP Address: The network address of the target server
- Share Name: The name under which the folder is shared on the network
- Path: Optional - Subfolder on the network drive (path separator: "/")
- Username/Password: Optional - Authentication data for protected shares
