{"id":4081,"date":"2023-02-16T11:17:29","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T10:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/docs2.kentix.com\/knowledge-base\/power-adapter-for-connecting-a-multisensor-operating-instructions\/"},"modified":"2024-07-30T11:29:07","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T09:29:07","slug":"power-adapter-for-connecting-a-multisensor-operating-instructions","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/docs.kentix.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/power-adapter-for-connecting-a-multisensor-operating-instructions\/","title":{"rendered":"Power adapter for connecting a MultiSensor &#8211; MANUAL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kentix I\/O power adapter KIO2 is used to connect a MultiSensor-RF\/-LAN\/-LAN-RF to the power supply.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safety instructions<\/h2>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-accordion wp-block-hb-accordion\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>Installation<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by trained specialist personnel in accordance with the instructions.<br>No modifications of any kind may be made to Kentix GmbH products, with the exception of those described in the relevant instructions.<br>When installing Kentix devices, certain degrees of protection must be guaranteed.<br>Observe the relevant regulations for installations in the respective environment.<br>Only operate the products within the defined temperature range.<br>The instructions should be passed on to the user by the person carrying out the installation.<br>Kentix accepts no liability for damage to the devices or components caused by incorrect installation. Kentix accepts no liability for incorrectly programmed units.<br>Kentix accepts no liability for faults, material damage or other damage. <br><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>Use of the products, transport and storage<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Protect the device from<br>moisture, dirt and damage during transportation, storage and operation.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>Battery powered products<\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Do not use the products in potentially explosive atmospheres.<br>Only operate the products within the defined temperature range.<br>Installation and battery replacement may only be carried out by trained specialist personnel in accordance with the instructions.<br>Do not charge, short-circuit, open or heat batteries.<br>Observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries.<br>The devices must always be operated with the batteries intended for the product.<br>When changing the batteries, always replace all batteries.<br>Dispose of old or used batteries properly.<br>Keep batteries out of the reach of children.  <br><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>Maintenance<br><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__contentwrap\">Kentix devices must be checked for functionality as part of annual maintenance.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__section\" data-ht-blocks-accordion-block-state=\"closed\"><div class=\"wp-block-hb-accordion__title\"><span>Disposal<\/span><\/div><div   }<\/style><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commissioning<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The adapter is connected directly to the Kentix system socket (1) and offers the option of supplying power to a MultiSensor via a plug-in power supply (2).<br\/>This may be necessary, for example, if no PoE switch is available for operating a MultiSensor-LAN\/-LAN-RF, or if a MultiSensor-RF is to be connected separately to monitor the external power supply. The cable length between MultiSensor and KIO2 adapter should not exceed 50 meters.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">This adapter is only used to supply power to a MultiSensor.<br>The alarm inputs and outputs on the MultiSensor are no longer available when using this adapter.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configuration with KentixONE<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The device is configured via the web browser in KentixONE. The device must be accessible to the central KentixONE instance on the network side. Depending on the device type, a communication key and the IP address or DHCP name of the central KentixONE instance must also be set on the device (MultiSensors, AccessManager, SmartPDU). IP cameras or IO modules, on the other hand, can be integrated directly into KentixONE.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All information about the software can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.kentix.com\/kentixone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KentixONE<\/a> section and the associated documentation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">Before starting the configuration, make sure that the software on all network-compatible Kentix devices is up-to-date.
